The Birth of Sugar Ridge Inn B&B

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

April 10, 2018 is the day Sugar Ridge Inn becomes a reality. I have aspired to become an Inn Keeper since the first time I watched the Bob Newhart show many many years ago.  Sugar Ridge Inn may not be in the Mountains of Vermont but I will stack my "Gorges" Fingerlakes against them anytime.

Sugar Ridge Inn is a beautiful 203 year old home full of unique architectural features with mature perennial gardens and fruit trees. My Mother, and Co-Inn Keeper Karen, and I are new to Innkeeping but old pros at entertaining so we are sure to get up to speed quickly.   Our mission is to make our guests feel at home and I guarantee my Mother's amazing culinary skills will tantalize your taste-buds during your morning breakfast buffet. Whenever possible we use local farm to table dairy, meats, fruits and vegetables.

The Inn is situated in the heart of the Fingerlakes which is one of the most robust areas for organic gardening, grape growing for all the wonderful wineries and a host of other natural food sources. We plan to start our own vegetable garden this Spring. (If it ever arrives) The property has several types of apple and pear trees. I personally can't wait to start my own Strawberry and Blueberry patches.

I look forward to keeping this blog active as I journey through this new adventure. We will be opening our doors for guests on May 11th. Best Regards for now. Laura
